Equity Scholars Program

APT Conference Scholarships

The Association for Preservation Technology International (APT) and our Inclusion Advocacy Committee are committed to creating opportunities that expand the backgrounds and life experiences contributing to APT’s community, dialog, and programs in order to enhance our ability to fulfill our mission. Our goal is to support the growth and development of wide ranging perspectives within the historic preservation field.

Launched during APT's 2022 conference in Detroit with funding from the Getty Foundation, the APT Equity Scholars program provides funding to students and emerging professionals to attend APT's annual conference. Thanks to continued funding support from CSI, Simple Design Studio-Architects, and the Patti the Preservationist initiative, APT is pleased to continue this program for students and emerging professionals to attend the APT Annual Conference in Providence, Rhode Island, from November 11-15, 2025.

Selected Equity Scholars receive the following benefits:

  • Complimentary conference registration, including tickets to the Student Recognition Luncheon, Chapters Breakfast, and Closing Celebration.

  • $375 USD stipend for travel expenses and $60 USD for incidentals.

  • Accommodations in a shared hotel room for four nights with arrival on November 12th and departure on November 16th. (Requests for a single room are based on availability and would require the recipient to pay for half the hotel rate).

  • Complimentary one-year membership to APT. (July - June)

  • Opportunity to network with industry professionals from around the world.
