Founded in 1968 as a joint venture among Canadian and United States preservationists, APT now has members in more than 30 countries.

APT members include preservationists, architects, engineers, conservators, consultants, contractors, craftspersons, curators, developers, educators, historians, landscape architects, students, technicians, and other persons directly involved in the application of methods and materials to maintain, conserve, and protect historic structures and sites for future use and appreciation.

APT's Membership year is July 1 - June 30.

Professional (EP1-EP4) 

  • Full member benefits listed above for persons within four years of entering the preservation field from a college, university, or trade apprenticeship program, with dues of $95 in the first year and increasing by $20 per year thereafter.  After four years, renewing members must select one of the other APT member categories.

  • Full member benefits listed above, with valid student ID or proof of upcoming enrollment in a college or university or trade apprenticeship program.
