APT Bulletin Special Issue on the Building Trades Call for Abstracts
APT invites submissions for a special issue of the APT Bulletin on the building construction and craft trades (Volume 57:3-4).
Authors are encouraged to submit abstracts by July 15, 2026.
This issue aims to enhance the understanding of building construction and craft trades in the effective execution of preservation technology projects. Submissions that examine historical and contemporary relationships within the trades, as well as those that address the international dimensions of trade work, are especially encouraged.

APT 2026 Getty Fellows
We are excited to announce the launch of the APT Getty Fellows Grant Program, an initiative designed to broaden the diversity of perspectives and experiences represented at our conference and strengthen the APT community. With the generous support from Getty, this program will bring equity-focused and international professionals from around the world to attend APT 2026 Indianapolis.
The grant provides comprehensive support, including travel, lodging, conference registration, and a stipend for incidental expenses. It is open to domestic applicants and international professionals from countries with emerging economies who are historically underrepresented and/or have limited access to professional development funding. Applications are due by June 30.

APT Equity Scholars Program
Applications are now open for the 2026 Equity Scholars Program.
Thanks to continued funding support from CSI, Simple Design Studio-Architects, and the Patti the Preservationist initiative, APT is pleased to continue this program for students to attend the APT Annual Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, from October 27-30, 2026. Applications are due by June 30, 2026.

APT Seeking Nominations for the 2026 Election
Interesting in joining the APT Board? The 2026 Call for Nominations is open now through July 15, 2026.
The APT Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for openings on the APT Board of Directors and officer positions. The board has a maximum of 16 members elected to two-year terms. APT seeks a diversity of backgrounds and life experiences within the Board to enhance its ability to fulfill its mission.
Positions open for election this year include the following:
- One Officer Position: Treasurer
- Up to five (5) Directors
New board members begin their service following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) that takes place during the annual conference (typically in October or November each year). In 2026, the conference is in Indianapolis, IN, and the AGM is October 29, 2026.
