Capitolizing on Technology: Preserving the Past and Inspiring the Future with Documentation Strategies at the Michigan State Capitol

8:30am - 11:00am ET

Join us at the Michigan State Capitol Building to experience first-hand the innovative use of strategic documentation underpinning the continuing renovation and repair projects at this site.

We will see how a “digital twin” of the building allows the Owner the ability to navigate the hidden infrastructure of a building digitally via a tablet device, maximizing the efficiency of future maintenance or repair efforts.

Laser scanning, integrated photogrammetry, hydrothermal monitoring, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and historic building information management (HBIM), will be showcased by international experts including owner’s representatives, architects, conservators, contractors, software designers, as well as a film crew which is documenting the construction efforts.

Come and take advantage of some “behind the scenes” access to the inner workings of the Michigan State Capitol Building and explore how an investment in a documentation strategy will benefit your projects.
